I am vociferously passionate about good books. And I hate adverbs.

Book Review – Of Dark and Bright, by Kate Sherwood

Of Dark and Bright - Kate Sherwood

The last book in the Dark Horse series, and it was a good ending. It wrapped all the story threads up neatly, just as it wrapped me up in good feels.

I have now read the three books and the 8 (eight!) freebies that comprise this universe, and my over all evaluation is that of books that bring happiness.

Good horsemanship. Good thinking. Good angst thrown in, especially in this last book, there were so many things happening at once, I almost got lost in it all.

Good writing—now, how is it that I have been blessed with so many well-written books lately? I am most certainly not complaining. And this author knows how to swing a brilliant clause.

Look, here:

“Chris was a lawyer, but he was also a semiprofessional Dan-wrangler, with a much longer history on the job than Evan had.”

And also making me giggle when Dan talks to Chris’s horse—afraid of a leaf on the ground:

“Don’t listen to him, Ginger. It’s obviously a landmine. If you step on it, your legs will be blown right off.”

I can’t help but loving it.

Hot men, beautiful horses, setting: California, yeah, people, I’m a goner.

I was given a free review copy of this book from the publisher, Dreamspinner Press.

A positive review was neither expected nor promised in return.

Links to the freebies I mention in my review are to be found on the author's page, scroll down to Dark Horse. There is also a suggested reading order provided.
