I am vociferously passionate about good books. And I hate adverbs.

Three's Company

Three's Company - N.R. Walker I had been warned that this was a PWP story. Ha, Author, you put quite a lot of plot in there with your porn. (Of which there was, admittedly, a lot). But I loved it. All of it. The message, the happiness, the sexy times and the very fact that it had me up until 3 am to finish it. I haven’t read a book that grabbed a hold of me in this way in a while, and with 4 Currently Reading meh books, it was extremely welcome. For a while I thought I had lost the knack of losing myself in a story. Turns out, all I needed was a good one. This was that good story. Now, if you don’t like m/m-romance, you are probably not going to like this one. But if you do, and you’re ready for the adventure to become a little steamy and a lot sweet, then go right ahead. These men were absolutely adorable. I fell in love with them, time and time again, just for what they said and how they acted with each other. Some excerpts? Why of course, I cannot write a review without them:How do you describe the love when there are so many limbs in the bed?”Underneath me, on top of me, inside of me, inside of him. It was a pleasure like I’d never known. So… complete.” And why would this be wrong? Love is love. Acceptance. How ever many you are to share it. ”’And is love only for two people?’ he retorted.”Then, when the young man from gay bashing Alabama walks out in the sunshine of Florida:”… and for the first time in my life, I walked out into the street, holding the hand of a man.”… it overwhelms me, the fact that what I take for granted in my life, could mean a brutal beating for a gay man. To simply hold the hand of the person you love. What is WRONG with people?I really enjoyed the development of the characters, especially as I wasn’t really expecting much of a story to begin with, PWP warning and all that. But these men were brilliant, shining, alive, and so well described that I could see them in front of me. Not only that, they also stayed consistent with what their character’s reactions should be, especially when there’s a moment of angsty tension. Simon’s reactions were so in tune with who he is, it was almost scary. Well-written prose, good speed in the action and credible characters. I could only find one error (you all know how good editing is a pet peeve of mine) so that was an extra bonus. I do enjoy good language. This book had it. There is something so very honest about how Ms Walker describes feelings, it just cuts through all the crap and goes straight to the heart of things. Straight to my heart, in this instance. 5 solid stars. Why am I not surprised in the least?***I was NOT asked to read this book by anyone, I paid it with my own money, as I do with the books I read, the music I listen to and the movies I watch.
